WinXP Teksupport internet setup

Step 1: Dial-up networking

  • Click on Start | Control Panel
  • Click on Network and Internet Connections

    Click on Setup or change your Internet Connection

    * Internet Properties appears.

     

    Click the Connectionstab and then click on Setup.

        * Welcome Connection Wizard appears.

     

    Click on Next to continue.

     

    Tick Connect to the Internet, Click on Next.

     

    Tick Setup my Connection manually, Click on Next.

     

    Tick Connect using a Dial-up modem, Click on Next.

     

    Type Teksupport Internet and Click on Next.

    Type 85587777 and Click on Next.

     

    Fill in your username, Password, Confirm password and Tick the first two boxes as well. Turn on the Internet Connection Firewall is entirely an optional.

     

    Tick the box to Add a shortcut to desktop (optional).

    Click on Finish.

     

    Step 2: Proxy Server Configuration.

    Open Control Panel, Click on Network and Internet Connections Internet Options. 

    Click on General tab.

    Click on Connections tab.

    Click on Setting...

    Tick the Proxy server box | Click on Advanced...

    Fill the Proxy server addresses as above.

    Click ok to Finish.

     

    Step 3: Fine Tuning Network Connections.

        * Open the Control Panel, Click on Network Internet Connections | Network Connections.

        * In Dial-up, Point mouse over Teksupport Internet icon, Click right mouse button,  Go in the menu down to Properties. In General,

    Click on Security tab.

    Click on Networking tab.

    Click on Settings.

    Tick Enable software compression and Enable LCP extensions only. Click on ok.

    Internet protocol (TCP/IP) should be Ticked. Tick the Internet protocol and Click on Properties.

    Click ok to finish.

     

    >Step 4: Fine Tuning the Modem Settings.

    >    * Open the Control Panel | Network and Internet connections | Network Connections.

    >    * In Dial-up, Point mouse over Teksupport Internet icon, Click right mouse button,  Go in the menu down to Properties. In General, Click on Configure button.

    >

    >Select the Maximum speed as 57600bps, Tick the Enable hardware flow control, Enable modem error control and Enable modem speaker ( optional ) only.

    >Click on ok to finish.

    > 

    >Step 5: Setting up the Firewall.

    >Open Network Connections | Point mouse over Teksupport Internet icon, Click right mouse button, Go in the menu down to Properties.

    >Click on Advanced tab.

    >

    >Tick the Internet Connection Firewall box. Click on Setting....

    Click on Services tab.

     

    Click on Security Logging tab.

     

    Tick the Log dropped packets check box.

    Click on ICMP tab.

    Click on ok to exit.
